Baltimore “Achdus” Concert for JobKatif

On May 10, 2010– Lag B’Omer– the community of Baltimore celebrated Lag B’Omer with a value-added concert to benefit JobKatif!

The benefit concert, entitled “Music and the Message of Brotherhood” was organized by a group of volunteers headed by Mike Lowenstein, and featured a great line-up of musicians including Diaspora Yeshiva Band’s Avraham Rosenblum!

One of the most beautiful aspects of this event was the message of achdut of the Jewish people- unity. In this regard, all of us give a huge “YASHAR KOACH” to all of the rabbis and community leaders who participated in this event.

The concert raised $20,000 for JobKatif, which will be doubled by the Israeli government!

JK’s Executive Director Judy Lowy addressed the audience and was overwhelmed with the level of support. She spoke of the dire situation of the displaced families and the urgent need to raise funding to help them get back to the workforce.
